What is a mammal?

So last night I went to Parent Teacher conferences.  It was confirmed that my boys are both brilliant and clever.  Much proof was shown throughout the evening to substantiate the claims.  Xander is the only child in his class to have attained the coveted "E" grade in science.  Teachers are not technically allowed to give this grade out to 1st-3rd graders.  However, Mrs. Hudson felt that Xander knew far more about Science than is generally expected at such a young age...After discussing his aptitude for the subject, we discussed a recent conversation Xander and I had after a particularly stimulating lesson on mammals.  The following is our conversation:

Xander - Mom, there is something very specific you should know about Mammals.
Julie - Oh, really?  What would that be?
Xander -Mammals have hair.
Julie - This is true.
Xander - Humans are mammals.
Julie - Yes, we are.
Xander - But not ALL humans are mammals.
Julie - Really?  I didn't know that.
Xander - Take Uncle TT for example.  He has no hair.
Julie - Well, no he doesn't.
Xander - But I kind of think he MIGHT still be a mammal.
Julie - Perhaps we should ask Uncle TT.

Afterward, we discussed that all humans are indeed mammals even if they don't have hair on their heads.  However, to my brother Steve I would say, please call your nephew as your mammal status is still in question.
In other news, AJ is the only child in his entire GRADE to have passed the Non-fiction reading test.  He not only passed, he got a 97%!  His teacher has said the only fiction he reads is Pokemon and Hotwheels.  Otherwise he sticks to the science and history section in both the library and the classroom.   Yes, I am bragging, but it is my motherly duty and more importantly - RIGHT!
