Military Day at Valas

The local pumpkin patch opened up for military appreciation day. Rod and AJ had never been so we packed up the boys and had a day of fun. The boys loved it. There was a haunted farmhouse (the original farmhouse on the property), the pumpkin jump (below), pony rides, fair food, hayrack rides, corn maze, and lots and lots of pretend cemetaries for Xander. This was such a fun place, the problem was it was a little hot, but it wore the boys out and we made some great memories!
The boys went through the not so scary haunted house and AJ loved all the jokes listed on the walls and elsewhere...
When at a pumpkin patch, it is absolutely necessary that one jumps into the hay!

The first time my boys have ever been on a pony (I'm almost ashamed for this Montana girl to admit that). The both loved it but I think AJ has probably outgrown the pony phase!

Xander had to get a picture of "Xander the pumpkin eating dragon". Later in the day, a cast member in full cowboy garb heard me calling to Xander and had to find out if that was his real name. He was tickled that Xander and the pumpkin eating dragon shared a name.

AJ the pirate!
Guess he wasn't a very good one:)
The witch and her kid cooking caldron, this is Xander's "scared face" - so convincing isn't it?
AJ joining in the feast...

This is cute, they have this at the entrance so families can take a picture next to it every year to track their progress!

Xander absolutely positively had to get a picture as a ghost - even though there were real cobwebs in the face window.
Hitching a ride on the old fashioned school bus
Sign says it all!

That place looks like so much fun! I wish we could take the girls there... Love the "kids for sale" picture!
