Camp Noble Cause

A local Boy Scout decided that for his Eagle Project he would put together a free weekend camp out for military families.  We were fed, entertained, and given gifts galore.  It was well put together and so much fun.  Rod and A.J. even had their picture put in the local paper.  Great memories!  The camp was held at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch in Little Sioux, Iowa.  For those who are not familiar with this camp, it made national news 2 years back when a tornado ripped through the camp killing several scouts.  It was a bit sobering to be up there and still see some damage left over from the storm, at the same time it was great to see the brand new structures that had been erected as well as the memorial.
The biggest water slide the boys had ever seen!
Xander coming down at full speed.  They actually added dishwashing liquid to make it more slick!
A.J. trying to crawl back up to the top...I think he gave up and walked along the side in the end :)

The picture that made the paper...Rod kept launching A.J. into the Air, he was obviously having a blast :)
This was taken right after the great canoe adventure.  The boys tipped the canoe in the middle of the lake and Rod had to swim them all the way back to shore, dragging the water filled canoe behind him.
My boys!
The camp also provided rock climbing, crafts, archery and several other awesome activities.  Overall, I would say the Boy Scout who put it all together, more than earned his Eagle!
